Simi Valley: Stolen LoJack Vehicle Recovered and One Suspect Arrested

On July 31, 2017 at approximately 4:20 am, while on patrol, officers from the Simi Valley Police Department received a Lo Jack alert of a stolen vehicle in the area of Erringer Rd. and Alamo St. The officers searched the area and located the vehicle in question traveling westbound Cochran St. at Erringer Rd. SVPD units conducted a high risk stop of the vehicle and took the driver into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as Alberto Hernandez, 21 years old from Santa Paula and booked into the Ventura County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was recovered and returned to its rightful owner. 

The Simi Valley Police Department would like remind the community to avoid becoming a victim: 

– Keep your vehicle locked at all times, even while driving. 
– When parked secure all windows and sunroof. 
– Do not leave your keys in the vehicle. 
– Never leave your car running and unattended. 
– Be aware of your surroundings when parking your vehicle. 
– Report any suspicious activity and call SVPD (805) 583-6950
