Simi Valley | Suspect armed with a knife, arrested for Robbery at Albertson’s

Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release

On 8/27/18 at approximately 10:11 PM, SVPD units responded to Albertson’s (1268 Madera Rd.) on a man with a knife who had tried to steal some merchandise.

Upon arrival, a search of the area was conducted and the suspect was found and detained. The investigation revealed that the suspect was stopped by a store employee when he saw the suspect attempting to steal merchandise. When the suspect was confronted, he brandished a knife and fled with the merchandise.

The suspect was identified as Matthew Dobson, 2/3/88, of Simi Valley. Dobson was placed under arrest for 211 PC, Commercial Robbery. He was booked at the Ventura County Main Jail.

    He was apprehended by by Joe Albertson in the meat department
