St. John’s Regional Medical Center Host Successful Cardiac Symposium

Free informative event featured renowned cardiac physicians, private tours, and educational tools to improve heart health

OXNARD, CA – February 12, 2018 – To highlight the hospital’s award-winning cardiac capabilities and in recognition of February as American Heart Month, St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) hosted an educational Cardiac Symposium. Members of the community were invited to meet the region’s top cardiac specialists for an afternoon that was good for their heart health. 

The event was held, Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the SJRMC Conference Center and Healing Garden, located on the lower level of the campus. Over 100 community members were in attendance. The informational event featured:

  • Informational presentations by world-class cardiac physicians: David Schmidt, MD – Treatment and Prevention of Heart Disease; Ali Sovari, MD – Atrial Fibrillation: Treatment Options; and James McPherson, MD – Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
  • Giveaways and door prizes
  • Cooking demonstrations
  • Tours of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab
