Stabbing at Ventura construction site

On May 19 at 1:49 AM, the victim, Timothy Hernandez, was employed as a security guard for the property which is under construction at 250 S. Mills Rd. The victim heard a noise at the fence line of the property that borders the Wells Fargo Bank. As the victim entered a homeless encampment at the edge of the property, he was stabbed in the abdomen with an unknown object by an unknown race male that appeared to be 25-35 years of age. The suspect fled the area on foot immediately following the assault. Officers set up a perimeter and CHP was asked to assist with the perimeter. A Ventura Police K9 team responded to the scene and conducted a hard surface track in an attempt to locate the suspect. The K9 team tracked for several blocks, but was unable to locate the suspect.

The victim was transported by ambulance to the Ventura County Medical Center and is being treated for a non-life threatening stab wound.
