Taxi driver allegedly attacks patron in Ventura

On July 15th at 2:44 AM, officers were dispatched to a fight call on California St. near the Chevron gas station. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a laceration to his eyebrow and right hand. Officers discovered the victim was being transported in a taxi from Casa Lopez in Oxnard to his residence in Ventura when the victim and taxi driver got into a verbal altercation while driving near the Chevron gas station.

The taxi driver pulled to the side of the road and demanded the victim out of the car. The victim pleaded for the taxi driver to continue to his residence and showed the driver his wallet to prove he had money to pay for the fare. The taxi driver bit the victim in the hand, took his wallet, his cell phone, and forcibly pulled the victim out of the taxi. The taxi driver fled the area driving a dark colored Dodge Magnum with white lettering on the side.

The victim was treated for his injuries by paramedics at the scene.
