Thousand Oaks Soccer Coach suspect — Lewd acts on a Child
Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
In June of 2017, the Thousand Oaks Police Department received a report of a possible child crime that occurred several years earlier. The victim reported she had a sexual relationship with her former club soccer coach when she was between the ages of 14 to 16 years old. At the time of the first offense, the soccer coach was 37 years of age.
Detectives from the Sexual Assault Unit launched an investigation into the complaint and learned the adult male suspect was Vincent Thomas. Thomas has been a youth soccer coach in the Ventura County area for the past 20 years.
After a detailed investigation, detectives served a search warrant at Thomas’ residence in the City of Thousand Oaks, on July 10, 2017. Later that day, detectives located Thomas in the City of Camarillo and arrested him for committing lewd acts upon a child. Thomas was booked into custody at the East County Jail and is currently being held on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on July 12, 2017, at 1:30 p.m., for arraignment.
Due to Thomas’ many years of exposure to female soccer players throughout Ventura County, the Thousand Oaks Police Department is requesting anyone with additional relevant information about Vincent Thomas to call Detective Darin Yanover at (805) 494-8229.
