Trump First Year Election Anniversary: “Awake moral citizens; war awaits”

America:  The 45th President of the United States is not our Savior.   Awake moral citizens; war awaits!

A Fox News report posted (by The Hill) today—the first year election anniversary of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States—quoted Fox News anchor Bret  Baier from Election Day 2016:   “I knew that there was something that we and the polls were not tracking,” Baier said. Baier, who felt at the time based off exit poll numbers that the race would be called before midnight, didn’t think Trump would win. He wasn’t alone — he said even members of the Trump campaign believed victory wasn’t possible.

“I don’t think they had any inkling that they were going to win,” Baier said. “In fact, we had some people come up to our reporters, our correspondents covering the campaign, saying, ‘Hey, here’s my Gmail … stay in touch.’ ”

“The path for Hillary Clinton kept on getting more narrow,” Baier said. “And finally, at the end of the night, when we made the call on Pennsylvania, I said, ‘We can now project that Pennsylvania will go to the Trump campaign and that means that Donald J. Trump will be the 45th president of the United States.’ ”

Interesting enough, a few “bold” Christians had been announcing long before; that Donald J. Trump would become the next President.  In fact a friend of mine, had been on assignment praying for Donald Trump for almost a decade.  He knew!

Now one year later; have we learned anything about this miraculous outcome?  I would say no!

Today, Democrats are celebrating victories in gubernatorial races in both Virginia and New Jersey.   They are saying:  The “Make America Great Agenda” is dead!  Meanwhile, President Trump tweeted just moments after the Virginia race was called:

“Ed Gillespie worked hard but did not embrace me or what I stand for. Don’t forget, Republicans won 4 out of 4 House seats, and with the economy doing record numbers, we will continue to win, even bigger than before!” Trump tweeted from Seoul, South Korea on Tuesday night, minutes after the gubernatorial race was called for Democratic Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam in Virginia.

The war facing us is seen by looking at the nation’s two most recent prolific mass shootings in Las Vegas on Sunday, Oct. 1st where 59 country music concert goers were killed and 527 injured and on the Sunday, Nov. 5th Sutherland Springs shooting where 26 churchgoers were killed (including 8 from one family; along with the pastor’s daughter) and 20 more injured.

What should be our response on the first anniversary of the election?

  • Learn about our founding documents—the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution—and explore “the origins of our American Government, how it is relevant, and how it is shaping our future” with a lecture given by Thousand Oaks Councilman Rob McCoy every Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. at Godspeak Calvary Chapel, 2697 Lavery Court, Suite 14, Newbury Park. If you can’t attend, see the link posted every Friday at: or go to my weekly column on the American Legacy Series posted on Mondays in the CitizensJournal.US.  Why not support  a special civics series for public high school students that will give scholarships for those that complete the course.  If interested in this project, contact me at or call me at (818) 263-9881 and make a donation to History Makers International.
  • Hold our elected officials accountable to the U.S. Constitution by attending school board, city council, board of supervisor meetings, and other public agency meetings.  Have a copy of the U.S. Constitution and know it well enough to explain it to others.
  • Consider running for an elected office. Ask others if they would vote for you?   Approach neighbors, friends, and movers and shakers to support your campaign.  Start raising money.
  • Decide to support the Election Integrity Project that safeguards the election process. Get trained.   Commit to giving the days before election day and the days  after election to stop voter fraud.  For more information on how you can be involved, contact Ventura County Election Integrity Project coordinator Gloria Chinea at (805) 236-6626 or emailing:
