Ventura AT&T Store Robbed

On June 15th at at 9:29 AM, the Ventura Police Department Command Center received a call from an alarm company for the AT&T Store, 2850 Johnson Dr. reporting that the robbery alarm had been activated. When officers arrived on scene, a perimeter was set up around the business and the store’s manager was contacted. The manager told the officers the store had been robbed and that the suspect had fled on foot.

During the investigation officers learned the manager was inside the store when he was approached by the suspect, described at a Hispanic Male, 30’s, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. The suspect presented a note saying he was robbing the store and demanded the manager give him cell phones from the storage room. The manager complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cellphones. He then fled the store on foot with the cellphones in one of the store’s wastebaskets.

The suspect did not state he had a weapon and no weapon was seen.

Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. The manager was not injured as a result of this incident.
