    T.O. French Garden in bloom

The Ventura County Garden Club will meet on Wednesday, March 6th (2019) at Gardens of the World, 2001 Thousand Oaks Blvd., in Thousand Oaks, for a guided walking tour of their gardens and water features.  The 45-minute tour will begin at 11:00 a.m., so please plan to gather in their parking lot at least five minutes earlier.  The walking path is an easily accessed, paved route; perfect for those with a walker or in a wheelchair.  Plus there are benches throughout the property, for those who may need a short rest.  Members are welcome to create their own self-guided visit if they prefer.  There is no charge for the tour, but donations are appreciated.

The Gardens are composed of five distinct sections within four acres.  The Japanese Garden has an authentic Japanese Pagoda, a Koi pond, bridges, and bamboo.  The French Garden has a waterfall and parterres.  There is a Mission Courtyard where visitors can learn about early California history, plants and the “Mission Trail”.  Also, there is an Italian Garden with its “chain fountain” and plants that are indigenous to Italy.  Plus, an English Perennial & Rose Garden has something in bloom every season.

Parking is very limited; therefore carpooling is advised or use the lot at Civic Arts Plaza across the street.  After the tour, participants will meet for lunch at Sabor Cocina Mexicana restaurant, nearby at 2200 Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Members and guests are always welcome.  If you are planning to attend, please RSVP by February 27th.  For further information or to RSVP call  Jacqualin at (805) 816-6019 or email  [email protected]
