Ventura Homeless Subcommittee presentation 3-9-17

Local activist Attacks Ventura's approach, suggests alternative

By Paul D. White

Here is a 6 minute presentation I gave to the Ventura Homeless Sub-committee yesterday (3/9/17).  It contrasts the Rescue Mission’s program with what the city of Ventura is trying to do, and urges the Council to get a proposal from John Saltee, the Mission’s Director. The contrast between the Mission’s program and Ventura’s proposed  one is stark.

Presiding at the meeting: Council members Matt LaVere, Jim Monahan, Neal Andrews, City Manager Mark Watkins, and Community Development Manager Peter Brown.

The panel said that they ARE in contact with Mr. Saltee, regarding how they could work together (??).  I hope so.
