Ventura Mom Launches Youth Fitness Franchise to Create Healthier Community

Program kicks-off with City of Ventura summer camps partnership

April 25, 2018 – Stretch-N-Grow, the nation-wide leader in children’s fitness programs is launching classes in Ventura County.  Erin O’Donnell, mother of 2 year-old twin girls, Spartan Race competitor, and entrepreneur, bought the franchise to bring a comprehensive kid’s fitness and wellness program to Ventura County. Through unique curriculum Stretch-N-GrowVentura County (SNGVC) teaches children the importance of healthy habits for life-long wellness.

The five foundational points of the program curriculum are: exercise, nutrition, rest, hygiene, and good attitude. Stretch-N-Grow is geared toward children between the ages of 2 and 12 years old. Founded on the fact children learn with their bodies before learning with their minds, the program builds key motor skills needed to develop into great thinkers, athletes, and healthy-well-rounded people.

Classes are provided through camps and partnerships with schools and daycares. The multi-faceted nature of the program brings a fresh experience to traditional school enrichment activities. Kristie Maingot, parent of two Stretch-N-Grow “stars” shares, “it’s nice to see the level of dedication the trainers have for teaching the kids very basic but very important habits – it reinforces what I try to teach at home.”

In partnership with City of Ventura Parks, Recreation & Community Partnerships, SNGVC will be offering summer camps June 18 – July 27. Classes are taught by youth fitness trainers are who are CPR certified, have completed the requirements to teach Stretch-N-Grow curriculum, and have been thoroughly background checked.

O’Donnell, owner and program director, is passionate about the program, “I want to make a difference in the community; Stretch-N-Grow gives children and parents the outlet children need for the required 30-60 minutes of play.” With many parents having busy schedules SNGVC offers the opportunity to implement a healthy framework early on in their children’s lives.

SNGVC is currently offering donation based pop-up classes Wednesdays at Kimball Park 1:30 – 2 p.m. SNGVC does field days for elementary schools and private events i.e. birthdays, weddings, group-playdates, and more.
