On 4/17/17 at about 10:08 PM, Ventura City Fire responded to a structure fire in the 500 block of E. Main St. (see attached press release sent out on 4/18/17). The following day, Ventura City Fire Arson investigators determined the fire was intentionally set and the origin was 516 E. Main St. (The Odd Fellows Club).

Over the next several weeks, Ventura Police Major Crimes Detectives worked with Ventura City Fire Arson investigators and the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigations. At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that 58 year old Ventura resident, Chingchai Liampetchakul, the owner Tipp’s Thai Cuisine (512 E. Main St.), which is located directly below The Odd Fellows Club, was responsible for starting the fire.

On 5/10/17, at about 11:00 AM, detectives served search warrants at Tipp’s Thai Cuisine and Liampetchakul’s residence in the 700 block of Adirondack Ave. Liampetchakul was arrested and later booked at the Ventura County Jail for arson.
