Ventura PD Officer spots Suspicious Vehicle: Arrests Suspect for Stealing It

On March 11th at 8:49 AM, a patrol officer working in the area saw a suspicious vehicle driving through the neighborhood. A records check revealed it was a reported stolen vehicle. As the officer attempted to turn around and stop the vehicle, the vehicle drove away at a high rate of speed. The officer was able to catch up to the vehicle as it stopped and the suspect was getting out in an attempt to run away. The suspect stopped and was taken into custody.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the suspect, Richard Medina, 39 years  old of Ventura, was booked into Ventura County Jail for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a stolen vehicle. No one was injured during this incident.
