Ventura Student Threatens School Shooting

Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release

On a School Resource Officer (SRO) working at Buena High School was alerted to a threat made by a male student to commit a school shooting. The SRO, along with the Ventura Police Department Detectives, began an investigation of the threat and to identify the male student.

During the investigation, the police department and the Ventura Unified School District worked together to identify the juvenile and find additional evidence to corroborate the threat. As a result of the investigation the juvenile as taken into custody and booked into Ventura County Juvenile Hall.

No one was injured during this incident, and there are no continued threats to the students or staff of the school.
