Ventura | Vagrant arrested — Suspected of burglary at Atara Salon

Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release  

On April 14th at 10:41 PM the Ventura Police Command Center received a report of a commercial burglary that had just occurred at Atara salon at 2833 E. Main Street. The reporting party (J. Garcia) found the suspect Raymond Vasquez, 73 years, vagrant, had broken the front window to the business and was inside. Garcia confronted Vasquez as he was calling the police. Vasquez fled the area and was chased by Garcia into a nearby neighborhood. Garcia lost sight of Vasquez running to the rear of a residence on Dos Caminos Street. Officers arrived on scene and began searching the area. Officers located Vazquez hiding in the crawlspace of a backyard patio on Dos Caminos. Vasquez was taken into custody with the help of VPD K9 Rover.

Vasquez was found to have 3 felony burglary warrants out of Santa Clara, Claremont, and Santa Barbara. Vasquez is also a PRCS offender reference Burglary.

Vasquez was booked at the Ventura County Jail for 459 PC- Commercial Burglary and the 3 outstanding warrants.
