Visit Ventura Wins Best Place to Work in Central Coast Award (Again)

Ventura, Calif. – Visit Ventura is honored to be recognized, for the second time, as one of the best places to work on California’s Central Coast by the Pacific Coast Business Times.

For their Best Place to Work awards, the Pacific Coast Business Times surveyed thousands of Central Coast workers, asking them to rate their workplaces in the Tri-Counties area. Tallying the scores, they ranked the top companies in two categories; large employers (27 employees or more) and small (26 employees or less). Visit Ventura ranked 7th overall among the small companies on the Central Coast.

But surveys are dry, and a great workplace is not.

“Success is about working hard, but life is also about having fun,” said Marlyss Auster, Visit Ventura President and CEO. “Our team has mastered the art of blending hard work and fun. We’re creative and committed to working together to produce our best work. But it’s work that’s a joy. It’s why I look forward to going to work every day.”

Nancy Pedersen, Board Chair of the Ventura Visitors & Convention Bureau, echoed that sense of joy in work.

“I’m not surprised that Visit Ventura is a back-to-back winner,” said Pedersen. “The team that Marlyss has put together is top notch. They all work together to make the VVCB a fun place to work, and a fun place for our visitors to enjoy. Hat’s off to Marlyss and her team. I’m proud to work with them.”

Work can be play, in the right play place. Find out how Visit Ventura contributes to driving Ventura’s economy through tourism and meet the team.

The Best Place to Work awards began in 2016. They represent feedback across an organizational structure and were quickly embraced by the community thus increasing their prestige. Workplace factors such as compensation, paid time off, community involvement, and overall corporate culture is considered.

Only in modern America is coming in seventh something to crow about. Reminds me of the ad Chrysler ran years ago wherein they boasted about rising in quality from something like number 25 to number 15. Okaaaay.

“Here, Tommy, is your medal for competing today. It’s okay that you didn’t finish the race, but you tried.”
