What Does This Sound Like … Listen Carefully …  Do you hear ENRON???

…….Check your Mail…..

Did you receive a notice from CPA

– The Clean Power Alliance???

Read the very fine print…….On May, 2019unless you formally  object……

your electricity supplier will automatically switch to CPA from Southern California Edison …….

You must call 888-585-3788, or go to www.cleanpoweralliance.org to remain with Edison (cost 50 cents!)

Check out your new electric bill ….. Mine will increase 27%

Ventura has joined a Los Angeles-based energy effort that hopes to reduce electric bills and
grow California’s
INTERMITTENT sources of solar and wind electricity.

NOTICE: When the sun goes down and the wind stops …….there’s NO Electricity Supply Guarantee!!!!

Also in 2020 – next year, all California’s coastal electric generating plants will shut-down…..
and the Schwarzenegger AB-32 (Global Warming) legislation goes into effect (no electricity imported
from Nevada, Utah or Arizona) ……which
leaves Ventura at the END-OF-THE-WIRE …..and with no local electricity supply!!!

According to the alliance, salaries, benefits and other associated costs to run the alliance
will be entirely paid for through the sale of electricity to the customer. .. That’s you!

….. So how much did Ventura get PAID for this deal $$$$

Oh, BTW…. HOW and WHO organized this STUNT????

Does anyone still remember 1995….the Utility Deregulation fiasco …..
– when in 2000, ….. California suffered expensive electricity brown outs, and Enron, etc.???

On March, 2018, the Ventura City Council voted 4-2 to join the Clean Power Alliance of Southern California, formed for cities and counties to offer wholesale power from renewables.   The alliance represents 2.3 million residents in more than 27 cities in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
Locally, Ojai, Oxnard, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Ventura County have joined the alliance.

VC Staff is recommending giving award a Texas-based company Calpine Energy Solutions a multiyear contract worth tens of millions of dollars to manage the operation. contract through 2021 to handle data management services for the alliance.

Calpine has received a NTE $10,000 Phase 1 contract. Phase 2 and  the final contract could be worth more than $32 million when residential customers are added.  Calpine is paid 95 cents per active account per month, and the county expects more than 926,000 customers by Dec. 1, 2018.
New Executive Director Ted Bardacke, GridX Chief Executive Office will receive a base salary of $218,000, plus $4,200 car allowance and just over six weeks of paid time off per year for vacation, sick days and floating holidays. He’ll also get $25,000 toward his retirement in his first month of work, according to the contract

CCA’s haven’t been embraced by existing power companies. Pacific Gas & Electric Co., based in San Francisco, unsuccessfully tried to get a ballot measure passed in 2010 that would have required two-thirds vote of a community to start or join a CCA.

I have been forwarding your information on CPA to my friends/relatives and neighbors who will be affected. Suggest other readers do the same.

Can you tell me who initially put this together and who gave them authority to collect fees if you don’t follow their guidelines? What recourse does the average citizen have?
