Simi Valley, Calif. – DUI Checkpoint Results: One person was arrested and booked for DUI. During that arrest, the front passenger was found to be extremely intoxicated. The passenger was transported by ambulance to the Simi Valley Hospital for care. One person was arrested and booked for driving on a suspended license because of a prior DUI, driving a vehicle without an interlock device and providing a false name to a police officer. Four people were cited for driving without a license and one for driving on a suspended license because of a prior DUI.
The checkpoint was held on July 17th, between 5PM and 1 AM, in the 1400 block of Royal Avenue.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired. The Simi Valley Police Department is committed to keeping the public safe when they are traveling.
