42nd ANNUAL WINGS OVER CAMARILLO AIRSHOW FORCED TO POSTPONE SUNDAY SEGMENT DUE TO POTENTIAL SEVERE WEATHER After

    News Release

After hard and careful consideration, the Camarillo Wings Association (CWA) has had to make the very difficult decision to postpone the Sunday segment of the Wings Over Camarillo airshow until August 2024.

John Lowe, President of CWA, stated, “Due to the unprecedented weather forecast for our area and the safety of our volunteers, performers, and the public, we have had to make the tough decision to postpone the Sunday segment of our airshow. This decision was not made lightly, as we know that this will disappoint many of our returning patrons.

We want to make it right for those who still have tickets for Sunday, and we are in the process of figuring out how we can make it worth their while to hang on to their
ticket and return next year. We will be following up with them in a few days.

Not only did we have to consider the safety of everyone, but also the repercussions of the rain and wind.

Much of our parking is on dirt lots, and we don’t want to cause any inconvenience to our customers. We also must consider the safety of our performers and vendors, which is another reason we postponed the show.

Every year we have had perfect weather conditions, so this impeding weather event is something new that we are forced to deal with. Asking our customers to hang on to their tickets will ensure that they get the same pricing for 2023 in 2024.

Since we had to postpone the show, the group that handles the Pyro Technics was forced to detonate the remaining ordnance to comply with federal regulations, and we sincerely apologize to the Camarillo residents for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I hope that they also understand that, as a non-profit, our airshow supports other local non-profits every year, and we have contributed over $651,000 in the past 12 years.

We can only hope our customers understand that our decision to postpone was made entirely with their
    safety in mind.”
