For The Troops, an all-volunteer California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting our deployed military, is looking for those who love Golf and honor our military for its 7th Annual Heroes Golf Tournament, Auction and Banquet on July 24, 2017 at Wood Ranch Golf Club located at 301 N. Wood Ranch Pkwy, Simi Valley, CA. Registration & Practice 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 11:00 AM Shotgun Start, followed by a reception, the Golf Ball Drop, Raffle, Awards dinner and silent and live auction as a fundraiser to support our military personnel by sending “We Care” packages around the world.
The event includes a Four Person Scramble, with every foursome having a “Hero” added: An Active Duty Military Golfer. Prizes will be awarded for First, Second and Third High Teams, Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive, men and women. Every golfer receives: •18 Holes of Golf; •Box Lunch with water stations throughout the course •Awards Banquet • Driving Range & Practice Putting Green • Opportunity to purchase a package that includes two different Hole-in-One Vehicles, 1 Mulligan, 1 Toss and raffle tickets.
Sponsorship’s are available at most levels, dinner and lunch, tee box signs, co-host, corporate and fairway signs. Companies or individuals may sponsor or donate their foursomes to active duty military personnel or Veterans. Tournament Co-Director, Ted Weiner states, “There is no set skill level, it is a worthy event, whose purpose is to generate a lot of fun, excitement and raise funds for more “We Care” packages to be shipped to our sons, daughters, husbands and wives serving in the deployed locations.”
The cost is $195 per golfer and that includes all golf fees, lunch and dinner. Foursomes are $780. There is an opportunity to honor and sponsor the Active Duty Military Golfer for $150 which includes their lunch and dinner. Anyone wanting to attend only the banquet, who is not playing in the tournament, the cost is $60. Reservations are required.
A helicopter “Golf Ball Drop Raffle” will be held and raffle tickets are now available for $10-1 ticket, $25-3 tickets, $100-13 tickets. The ball that comes closest to the pin or first in the hole will win a fabulous prize. The prize is two First Class Delta Air Lines round trip tickets to Maui, 6 days/5 nights in an ocean view room at the Four Seasons Resort in Maui, a limo service to and from LAX (from the local area), and $1,000 in gift cards.
There will be an extensive variety of live and silent auction items available at the awards banquet. Some of the live auction items are a firearm weapon, 2 roundtrip Alaska Airlines tickets to Los Cabos, Mexico and hotel accommodations at Casa Dorada, Los Cabos, Three 1 day Disneyland hopper passes, Dodger tickets, Four Seasons spa session, and Golf at Trump National Terranea.
