Port Hueneme Police Department – Incident Press Release
The Port Hueneme Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the possible suspect, or suspects, involved in a July 2, 2019 shooting that left 7-year-old Kaylanaa Davis in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Kaylanaa’s pregnant mother, Maryam Davis also received gunshot injuries in the 10:15 PM shooting, which occurred at the family home in the 100 block of East Pearl Street in Port Hueneme.
Detectives continue to follow up on numerous leads, but are asking members of the public who might have information to come forward. Port Hueneme Police Department Commander Robert Albertson stated, “Investigators are interested in any information, regardless of how insignificant it might seem. Someone out there knows something, or saw something that could prove critical in helping to move this case forward.”
