Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
On January 14 at 7:36 AM a resident in the 200 block of Jody Lane heard noises in her residence and found the suspect trespassing inside of the house. She immediately left the residence as she called 911. Ventura Police patrol officers and K9 were on scene within two minutes of receiving the call. After speaking with the victim, officers attempted to call the suspect, Darin Jones 5/31/72, Vagrant, out of the house, but he refused to cooperate and come out as requested. A team of officers, along with the K9, searched the house, found the suspect and took him into custody. He was arrested for trespassing in an inhabited dwelling, prowling, possession of drug paraphernalia and delaying/resisting arrest. No one was injured during this incident.
A review of the Ventura County Superior Court website showed the suspect has been arrested numerous times in the past three years for various charges including possession of a controlled substance while armed with a weapon, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of controlled substances, theft and possession of stolen property. He is currently on probation for possession of a stolen vehicle.
