Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release
August 21st at 8:48 PM, the Ventura Police Command Center received a 9-1-1 call from a resident in the 300 Block of Rancho Drive.
The caller reported a prowler in their backyard, pounding on the door. Through later investigation, we learned that the suspect prowled in a second backyard, damaged a parked vehicle by punching and kicking it, and ransacked another car that was unlocked in a driveway. The suspect then knocked on the front door of a third residence and when the homeowner opened the door slightly, he pushed his way into the home but was successfully pushed out by the owner.
When officers arrived on scene, the suspect was actively attempting to regain entry into the front door of that home. He was covered in blood and acting erratically. After a brief struggle, the suspect was taken into custody. He was arrested for prowling, vandalism, and residential burglary.
