Oxnard Police Department – Incident Press Release
On January 27, 2021, at approximately 7:40 AM, officers were dispatched to Rose Ave. and Cesar Chavez regarding a single vehicle traffic collision involving injuries. Upon arrival, officers found one passenger, a 71-year-old male, had been ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries on scene. The driver and two remaining passengers were trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed by Oxnard Fire Department personnel. All three occupants suffered significant injuries and were transported to area trauma centers where they are listed in critical condition.
Oxnard Police Department Traffic Investigators responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Based on the initial investigation, it is believed that speed is possibly a factor; however, investigators continue to seek additional information regarding this incident.
