COVID-19 Update
There are 167 new COVID-19 cases. There have been 6,527 new tests performed.
The current R-effective (average number of people each infected person will pass the virus onto and represents the rate at which COVID-19 is spreading) is .59 which means that spread of COVID-19 is likely decreasing; R-effective for CA is .68 right now.
There have been 7 additional deaths: 85 year old female, 83 year old female, 84 year old male, 59 year old male, 67 year old male, 70 year old male, and a 52 year old male
We extend our deepest sympathy to the families of those who have passed away.
Three days after the 2020 election the CDC changed the PCR testing requirement from 11 passes through the COVID testing device to 2 passes, which is the manufacturer approved testing criteria to eliminate false positive.
Therefore, events like the Super Bowl, where I witnessed many cars at house parties, had no effect on the local infection rate. Florida Super Bowl venue had no increase of infection rates. Heck, Valentine’s Day had no effect.
CA officials will take their time opening. Still some mom and pop businesses who are hanging on. If they survive, the next testing spike a month before the 2022 primary will finish them off!
