“It’s only in the great open spaces that we find ourselves.”
Ventura has wide blue-sky glories that will bewitch you, stun you, and lift your heart.
Not to mention a wealth of kindness.
And we can all use a whole lot of all of that.
Meet Pastoral Heaven…
Harmon Canyon is Ventura’s new hiking and mountain biking gem, 2,100 acres of gnarled oaks, downy grasses, and wind-kissed vistas. The result of the selfless efforts of the nonprofit Ventura Land Trust (and good samaritan donations), the hillside nature preserve is a place to hear the things that matter.
That would be nothing.
From our local trails to the Channel Islands, Ventura has so much glorious nothing.
There’s a New Pier in Town…
Channel Islands National Park prides itself on being California’s own Galapagos Islands — and within easy reach. That easy reach just got easier. The brand new beautiful pier at Scorpion Anchorage on Santa Cruz Island is now open! A bigger, stronger, safer pier offering access to a wondrous world where housecat-size foxes scamper through fields of Seuss-like flowers, and moon and sunshine down on, well, nothing. |
