Come and Volunteer With UsWe’re back! Friends of the Santa Clara River is hosting our first volunteer event of the year, with more to come in the future. FSCR is looking for volunteers to help out at the ethnobotany trail located in |
|||||||||||||||||
FSCR received grant funding to restore a bare field located near the Fillmore Fish Hatchery into a native plant interpretative trail. The funds were provided by the California State Coastal Conservancy, UCSB, and the Santa Clara River Conservancy are supporting the effort along with volunteers from the public. Help continue to grow the trail and learn about the local watershed ecology, wildlife and habitat restoration along the Santa Clara River. Chumash and Tataviam peoples of the area used these local plants for food, medicine, and building materials. Into the future, we hope volunteer days will include locally grown refreshments, native plant sales, and more. As a COVID-19 precaution, registration will be required ahead of time to limit attendance and for completion of the liability waiver, so please do not show up unless you are pre-registered! More information on how to register for the event can be found at on our website, click the button below to be directed to our Events page. |
