Between 1870 and 2021, Thousand Oaks grew from a dusty stagecoach stop between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara into a thriving suburban city. Conejo Valley residents have a chance to witness the transformation themselves over two weekends in October at “Voices of Old Conejo.”
This Museum Theater show is presented by the Conejo Valley Historical Society at the Stagecoach Inn in Newbury Park. The performance has been staged annually since 1990, but the script is rewritten each year so visitors can learn about new characters and events.
The 2022 presentation of Voices of Old Conejo is a 90-minute, two-act play from the Museum Archives written by former docent and Conejo Valley resident Elaine Williams.
Our Town on the Conejo Will transport the entire audience through the ‘Twilight Zone’ of Conejo Valley history from 1527-1927.
Come join the Lindsey Family as they travel on a Houdini-like trip ‘to the beyond.’
During the 90-minute guided tour through the museum property, guests encounter local historical characters escorted by guides in 1800s attire. Shows begin at 7:30pm.
The living history play runs October 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2022.. Tickets available for $20 at stagecoachinnmuseum.com.
