Join us on December 17th for a fun and safe native plant volunteer morning at Cheseboro Canyon! Activities include:
– Helping to plant and restore a local Oak Woodland in Cheseboro Canyon (home to deer and countless other wildlife!)
– Making your own native plant holiday decoration using Toyon berries, White Sage, Local Buckwheat flowers and more!
– Receiving a free native plant to take home!
The volunteer event begins promptly at 9am, with registration and a quick hands-on class on how to plant in our restoration area. Native plant holiday decorations can be made by registered participants from 12:30pm – 1pm, and free native plants will given out to participants who have registered after the restoration event, from approximately 12:30pm – 1pm.
The event will run from 9am – 1pm .
Please bring water, sunscreen and a sun hat. Wear hiking attire, closed toe shoes and pants and long-sleeved shirt are recommended. Gloves and tools will be provided.
**Note** The restoration site is a roughly 25 minute walk from the parking lot over mostly flat terrain of Cheseboro Canyon. There is no bathroom at the restoration site , we will have refillable water jugs for you.

PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME, WE HOPE TO NOT HAVE OUR LIMITED STAFF WAITING TOO LONG FOR LATE ARRIVALS! PARKING CAN FILL UP QUICKLY ON WEEKENDS. WE RECOMMEND CARPOOLING AND ARRIVING EARLY.
