#1 Water Conservation and Irrigation Basics for Home Gardeners
Come learn about saving water in the home landscape by making changes to your irrigation system. Attendees will participate in a hands-on irrigation activity, creating a single watering system from your backyard water bib. There will also be a demonstration on using a variety of irrigation parts and components.

Requirement: Closed-toe shoes
Wear comfortable clothing and bring drinking water.

#2 Introduction to Botanical Illustration with Pencil
What: Introduction to Botanical Illustration with Pencil
Master Gardener Ellie will demonstrate the art of pencil shading. Participants will have an opportunity to practice with Ellie’s help and guidance.
When: Saturday, May 20, 2017
Time: 9:45 am to noon
Where: Hansen Agricultural Research and Extension Center (HAREC)
$10 Material Fee: Supplies will include HB and 2B graphite scale pencils, sharpener, drawing paper, simple leaf and flower to draw, eraser and hand-held magnifier.
What to Bring: Each student will need to supply his or her own desk lamp to illuminate the sketch area. As always, bring your refillable water and wear comfortable clothing.
