Lake Elsinore, CA — On April 6, 2019, at approximately 4:26 PM, CHP Sergeant Steve Licon was struck and killed on Interstate 15 near Lake Elsinore by a suspected DUI driver. Riverside Sergeant Licon was a 27-year veteran of the California Highway Patrol.
Sergeant Licon was conducting a traffic stop behind a Chrysler sedan when a gray Toyota Corolla crashed into his motorcycle. He was airlifted to Inland Valley Medical Center where he tragically died from his injuries.
Licon was a beloved sergeant who mentored other officers. His presence will be missed by all those who knew him.
Sergeant Licon is survived by his wife and two daughters.
