“Contrary to the current rhetoric, this is not simply another immigration surge. This is a national security threat.”
— Retired Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott
In a letter addressed to the United States Senate, retired Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott has sounded the alarm. The current rupture of our Southern border is unprecedented in the history of the United States, and unsustainable in the interest of the Republic.
In Page Two of his five page letter, Chief Scott says, “These gaps are then exploited to easily smuggle contraband, criminals, or even potential terrorists into the U.S. at will“. He explains that the Biden administration is directing United States Border Patrol(USBP) personnel to not enforce CDC Title 42 Order, which requires all Foreign Nations to be screened for COVID-19. The Chief went on to identify the current situation at the Southern Border to be one of National Security.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki had a tense exchange with reporter Peter Doocy of Fox News who pressed about the administration’s vaccine hypocrisy in regard to the illegal aliens at Del Rio, Texas and Title 42 compliance. The exchange is between 0:40 and 0:55 of the feed
The humanitarian crisis at Del Rio worsened quickly as more and more migrants arrived seeking refugee status and overwhelming Border Patrol capabilities. Many of the migrants were originally from Haiti, and some said they had been abused and oppressed in other countries after leaving their home country.
Further into his letter, the retired USBP Chief said, “August 1, 2021, indicated that nearly 53% were being granted exemptions from T-42 with the majority ultimately being released into the United States”. In October 2020, 91% of total encounters with USBP were processed and expelled under T-42 within 90 minutes.
On Monday, the Biden administration began an effort to fly some migrants from Texas to their home country of Haiti.
