On July 25th, 2020 Suspect 24 year old Camarillo resident, Ryan Tallent was arrested for making criminal threats. Six firearms and over 5000 rounds of ammunition were seized as evidence in the case.
During the month of July 2020, Detectives assigned to the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail (SED) began investigating two “criminal threats” cases.
On July 08, 2020, a criminal threats crime was reported in the area of the 2500 block of Pheasant Hill Road. Patrol Deputies discovered the threat was made by Ryan Tallent, who was considered to be unstable due to possible substance abuse. During the investigation, it was determined that Tallent had the means to carry out the threats.
On July 14, 2020, an additional criminal threats crime was reported in the area of Cornell Drive in the City of Santa Paula. It was determined the same suspect, Ryan Tallent, made criminal threats to another victim threatening to end their life by shooting. Detectives from the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail conducted a follow-up investigation and discovered Tallent had numerous firearms registered to him.
On July 25, 2020, the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail located and arrested Tallent for PC 422- Criminal Threats. The Special Enforcement Detail then served a search warrant at Tallent’s residence where they found a total of 6 firearms and over 5,000 rounds of ammunition. The firearms and ammunition were seized as evidence. Tallent was booked into the Main Jail for felony violations of PC 422-Criminal Threats with a bail set at $20,000.
