Detectives from the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail arrested Anthony Cisneros in connection to multiple organized retail thefts throughout Southern California.
On November 24, 2020, detectives from the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail arrested Anthony Cisneros in the 300 block of Carmen Drive. During an approximate four-month long investigation, by multiple agencies, Cisneros had been linked to numerous organized retail thefts from Southern California Home Depots. These Home Depots were located in the counties of Ventura, Kern, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Riverside, and Orange.
At the time of Cisneros’ arrest, he was out of jail on bail on three separate cases for vehicle theft and robbery. The vehicles that were stolen were from the cities of Ventura and Camarillo, but the arrests were made in Los Angeles County. The robbery also occurred in Los Angeles County. At the time of all these crimes, Cisneros was on supervised release under the PROS program for a conviction for being in possession of a firearm by a known drug addict.
During yesterday’s arrest of Cisneros, four additional people were contacted and arrested for various charges. Sarahi Esquivel was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance; Anthony Jennell was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance; Anthony Garcia was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance; and David Mora was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Additionally, Mora was arrested for bringing drugs into a jail.
The investigation related to Cisneros spans across six Southern California Counties and is still ongoing. The total number lost from these Home Depot’s has yet to be determined as detectives from these counties continue to gather evidence linking Cisneros to the thefts. It is likely as the investigation continues; more thefts will be linked to Cisneros.
Anthony Cisneros was booked into the Ventura County Jail for Penal Code (PC) 490.4(a)(b)(1), Organized Retail Theft and a PROS hold related to his prior conviction for being in possession of a firearm by a drug addict. His bail was set at $40,000.
Sarahi Esquivel was booked into the Ventura County Jail for Health and Safety Code (HS) 11550(a), Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance and a PROS hold related to a conviction for drug sales. Her bail was set at $15,000.
Anthony Jennell was booked into the Ventura County Jail for HS 11550(a)(1), Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance and HS 11350(a), Being in Possession of a Controlled Substance. Additionally, he was also booked for a probation violation related to a driving under the influence case from 2018. His bail was set at $10,000.
Anthony Garcia was booked into the Ventura County Jail for HS 11550(a)(1), Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. He was released on his own recognizance with a promise to appear in Ventura County court at a later date.
David Mora was booked into the Ventura County Jail for PC 4573(a), Bringing Drugs into a Jail and HS 11550(a), Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. Mora posted a $50,000 dollar bail bond and was released with a later court date.
The Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail is a plain clothes team of detectives who respond and investigate crimes within the City of Camarillo. These detectives are able to further advance investigations of suspects who commit crimes in our community.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to be diligent and observant during the holiday shopping season. Criminals frequently prey on people who do not lock their vehicles or leave items in plain sight.
