Camarillo, California – Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) is now considered part of the standard operations for fire season.
During the recent heavy winds, one of thirteen Southern California Edison (SCE) electrical circuits in Camarillo was de-energized, meaning power was shut down. When weather conditions again increase the potential for fire, SCE may shut down power to one or more circuits in Camarillo. As part of the PSPS, SCE will provide notification to the public both 48 and 24 hours prior to a power shutdown.
All residents, including those who need continuous power for special medical equipment, are strongly encouraged to visit www.sce.com/PSPS, or call (800) 655-4555, and update their emergency contact information with SCE.
Thirteen circuit areas in Camarillo are subject to a PSPS. The City’s website has an information packet with maps of these circuits, as well as how to apply for medical financial assistance from SCE, and details about emergency backup power (generators). Please click here for the PSPS information packet: PSPS Information Packet and Circuit Maps.
