Camarillo, California – In anticipation of very high temperatures this weekend, the City of Camarillo will activate the Camarillo Police Department Community Room as a cooling center on Saturday, September 5 through Sunday, September 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.
The City encourages senior citizens and any others who may be at risk due to the extreme heat or temporary loss of electricity, to consider the cooling center when seeking refuge from the extreme heat. In observance of California Department of Public Health guidelines, temperatures will be taken prior to entry to the Cooling Center.
Individuals shall maintain a distance of at least six feet between themselves and others within the center, and masks must be worn at all times. Participants not wearing a mask will be provided one upon entry.
