The City of Camarillo is proposing an update to the City’s California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines, which were adopted in 2000. The guidelines are used by City staff and the public to guide the environmental review process, as well as assist consultants in applying consistent methodologies and thresholds of significance to evaluate project impacts. The updated guidelines also include noticing procedures for public review of environmental documents, consistent with the noticing requirements in Camarillo Municipal Code (CMC) 19.84, the CEQA and CEQA Guidelines.
The City’s CEQA Guidelines and Thresholds of Significance were reviewed by the Camarillo Planning Commission at a public hearing on May 5, 2020. At that meeting, the Planning Commission adopted a resolution recommending approval of the proposed guidelines to the City Council.
The public hearing notice for the May 27th public hearing can be found here.
The project history, Guidelines, Public Hearing Notice, and all other project information can be found on the CEQAGuidelines Update Webpage.
