Clean the River on Coastal Cleanup Day

The Santa Clara River needs you! Pick one of two sites 9am-Noon:

1. Santa Clara River Gateway Site, 2950 Johnson Drive – Ventura (Map). This site will offer a walking tour of the geography and biology of the river.

2. McGrath State Beach – Oxnard (Map). This site will offer views of the Santa Clara River estuary.

FSCR is joining with the California Conservation Corps to host Coastal Cleanup Day at McGrath State Beach and will join the Sierra Club at the Santa Clara River Gateway on Johnson Ave in Ventura! Come and be a part of the community for this Ventura County and State Wide Event that has contributed so much to healing our ocean and waterways! We’ll learn about local plants, wildlife and feel the sea breeze. For citizen scientists, we will keep checklists of what we find to add to the data index that helps the State track pollution and the progress we are making to stop it. Hope to see you there!
