COVID-19 Update

There are 138 new cases today (37 (26.8%) of which have a lab collection from August 14th or earlier), 1,032 additional people tested, and 1 additional deaths (88 year old male with comorbidities). We have had a 35.9% decrease in reported cases from the previous week (from 944 to 605). Current doubling time is 94.6 days.

Currently, we are on the state monitoring list for case rate per 100,000 population over 14 days; in order for us to get off the monitoring list, we need to have less than 850 reported cases in a 14 day period which is an average of 60 cases a day.

Total, we have 102 deaths (age range 29-107 years; 63 males and 39 females; 46 Non-Hispanic White, 45 Hispanic, 8 Non-Hispanic Asian, 1 Non-Hispanic Black, 1 Non-Hispanic American Indian or Alaskan Native and 1 Non-Hispanic Other). All people who have died of COVID-19 in Ventura County have had comorbidities except for a 94 year old male and a 79 year old female.

We have 141,759 people tested; 6.8% (9,695) of the 141,759 people tested have been positive.

Currently there are 72 people hospitalized with COVID-19 and 28 in the ICU.
