SIMI VALLEY—An enthusiastic and packed Ronald Reagan Presidential Library came to hear Donald Trump, Jr. on Sunday close out the first week of a book tour on “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us.” The night ended with a plea given by one audience member for the President to come to California and with cries for “Four More Years.”
Donald Trump, Jr. is the eldest son of President Donald J. Trump and his first wife Ivana. He is Executive Vice President at Trump Organization, where he has overseen major construction projects in New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas and numerous countries. During the 2016 presidential election, he served as a fundraiser and played a major role in Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign. He is an avid outdoorsman and has five children. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Real Estate from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.
The President’s son was introduced by Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former wife of Gavin Newsom (2001-2006), a television news personality who co-hosted The Five (2006-2018) on Fox News Network and now serves as a political advisor. “America will never be a socialist country” said Guifoyle thanks to Donald Jr. “my best friend, my champion (that I have known) for 14 years.”
Donald Jr. acknowledged his introduction as a “better welcome that I got than when I was on the View the other day.

The president’s son also acknowledged audience member Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA (in 2012 when he was 18) and now the Chairman of Students for Trump (whose goal is to recruit one million students for the 2020 Trump re-election campaign).
“I wrote the book based on my experiences—the great and not so great,” said Donald Trump, Jr. “I am not supposed to be a conservative, but my mother escaped communist Czechoslovakia, so it is an honor to be here (at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library).”
Donald Jr. spoke of his grandmother’s (his maternal grandfather, Milos Zelnicek had a home near Prague, where he spent summers camping, fishing, hunting and learning the Czech language) concern of CNN glamorizing the virtues of communism. “It always sounds so good, but (not to anybody) who actually lived under these systems (of government).
“To go on the campaign trail and fight for conservative values and to tell these stories has been a unique experience. We were the tip of the spear. I am the number two target in the greatest witch hunt in modern history.
“I have mastered the art of the short-form bomb on social media. I learned from the best. But I wanted to put out on long form so people can see not so much a political book but a book on culture. Never have we seen a greater divide between ideologies. Never has there been more oppression and suppression of free speech. Never has there been such hypocrisy in mainstream media.
“It is my honor to fight for these beliefs—the beliefs that (President) Ronald Reagan wanted us to live and for generations to come.”
“Will you ask your father to come to California?” was the question given at the conclusion of remarks made by Donald Jr. “With that kind of response (thunderous applause), I have no choice.” The questioner stated: “We have a lot of house seats in district that are conservative that need to be fought for.” Donald Jr. responded: “We do need people to be active. You need to step up a little. This is how we win.” The president’s son praised House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA 23) for doing “an amazing job” in recruiting Republicans to run for office. “We’ll be there (for them).”
Donald Jr. said that his book was dedicated to DEPLORABLES. The book dedication states: “While the elite of the other party look down on you and would rather you stay silent, I salute your work ethic, patriotism, and values. America wouldn’t be great without your blood, sweat, and tears. I will always stand with you! I am proudly one of you.
The Citizens Journal has captured key excerpts (below) from the 17-chapter, 294-page hardback Center Street (Hachette Book Group—the leading U.S. trade publisher with 1,400 adult books per year; 150 books on the New York Times bestseller booklist, 31 ranked number one). “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us” can be ordered on Amazon or purchased at Barnes and Noble, Walmart and Target.
Key excerpts:
1) Trigger Warning: “I’M NOT MAD.
“Look, everybody is called a traitor once or twice in their lives, right? Everybody gets falsely accused and wrongly investigated by the FBI and has to testify in front of Congress for over thirty hours, answering the same stupid politically motivated questions over and over again, don’t they? And, everybody has an army of social justice warriors combing through every word they’ve ever said online to find something to be offended by, correct?
“Today…the term ‘trigger warning’ is used to describe something, say a tweet from my dad, that blows up the fragile sensibilities of the liberal Twitterverse. At the very least, it sets their hair on fire and creates a minor news story for a few days. But at the worst, it moves them to real-life outrage and organized violence. And before you ask, the freaking out is wildly disproportionate. While conservatives usually get worked up over important things—such as the killing of babies or the stripping away of our natural rights as human beings—with liberals the “triggers” tend to be much sillier. If you say capitalism is better than socialism, they freak out. If my father says America is the greatest country in the world, they lose it. If you tell them the cat video they posted isn’t that cute, they have a complete breakdown.
“With every passing day, the bar for what’s considered ‘triggered’ gets lower and lower.”
2) Counterpunch: “In recent years, the left has come together and decided that words are violence, which, in the minds of its members, makes it perfectly acceptable to use violence against people with whom they disagree.
“They have decided that there are some thing you just shouldn’t say anymore, and when you say one of those things, you become the enemy.”
3) Cracks in the Foundation: “President Trump knows foundations as well as anyone and certainly better than anybody else in the political world. Over the course of his first term, he’s built a solid foundation on which America can soar, bring us back to the glory we once had. Solid construction is the enemy of socialism. Democrats will do everything they can to sabotage what my dad is building. We can’t let them worm their way in.”
4) Class Warfare: “On the campaign trail, my father promised American workers that one of the first things he would do as president would be to renegotiate trade deals that ignored their needs. That promise was the reason he won Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, a feat not accomplished since Ronald Reagan in 1980. I’ve been Donald J. Trump’s son for forty-one years and counting, and I can tell you this with complete confidence: He will never stop fighting for the American worker. He will never give in to Democrats at the expense of the American worker. He will bring the American dream back to our shores.”
5) Gap Year: “Left-wing pundits and fake news told you that my father was making promises on the campaign trail just to be provocative, just for the attention. Those who said and wrote that, however, were about to experience a rude awakening.”
6) Not Exactly the Statue of Liberty: “The good news is that the American people are awake to what’s happening with immigration. Democrat rhetoric and fake news might be able to fool some people for a while, but it can’t do so forever.”
7) Not Your Grandfather’s Democrat Party: “Thousands of people…enter the country as illegal immigrants—who take, far too often, from the system while contributing nothing. What better way to destroy American progress than by having overcrowded schools and health care systems that collapse under the strain of a growing population of dependent who won’t ever pay into our systems?”
8) Back To School: “Everyone seems to have accepted the notion that college students need to be protected from ideas that make them uncomfortable. Instead of going to college to be challenged, they go to college to be coddled and sheltered from things they don’t like.”
9) Election Night: “Plenty changed after my father took office, too, and much of that change was good for the American people. I guess I changed too. Politics had entered my bloodstream for all the good reasons. The opportunity was there for me to help forward my father’s agenda, and help him accomplish his goals.”
10) A Deadly Form of Hate: “The state of Israel gets to decide where their capital is, and the United States should support the only democracy in the Middle East. You see, the United States is a leader, and others follow us. It’s called leadership—something Obama sorely lacked. It’s time for America to take its rightful place as the leader of the free world once again.”
11) Miss Gendered: “For too long we have allowed the laws of our nation to be written by its most aggrieved, least stable citizens. We’ve pandered to ideas that have no basis in reality because we know that the people who came up with those ideas will turn the social justice mob on us if we don’t.”
12) The Enemy of the People?: “In my lifetime, the press has gone from Walter Cronkite, ‘the most trusted man in America,’ to Jim Acosta and Fake News. It’s a shame. Soon, social media will be the main deliverer of news, and that’s only going to make it worse for people looking for the truth.”
13) Shadow Banned: How the Liberals’ Grip on Social Media Can Ruin Your Life:
“If they can minimize the president of the United States—or at least try—what can they do to you? Recently, an expert on the subject estimated that somewhere between 2.5 million and 10 million voters had been swayed to Hillary by Big Tech’s tactics during the election. There goes the popular vote! Make no mistake. They did it before, and they’re going to do it again. As long as the outrage machine is still operating, it’s never going to stop.”
14) The Late Night Kind of Comedy with Jussie Smollett and the Fauxtrage Orchestra: “Liberals have become so deluded in their hatred off my father that they’ll latch onto any story that makes him look bad.”
15) Joe China: “I can hear the left now: ‘ You can’t investigate Joe Biden; he’s running for president.
“Yeah, right. Nobody running for president ever gets investigated.”
16) The Opposition: “…The Democrats are still obsessed with identity politics over real progress, proposing harebrained socialist plans instead of real solutions, and pandering to the fragile emotions of social justice warriors.”
17) Trump 2020: “In this next election we have a lot to lose. From sea to shining sea, Americans across this great country of ours have a better life and more hope with Donald J. Trump in the White House.”
