REDLANDS – Conservative columnist Susan Shelley returns to the Inland Empire to help the Redlands Tea Party Patriots celebrate Christmas on Dec. 13.

“Susan Shelley is a heck of a lot of fun, so asking her to highlight our annual Christmas program was a no-brainer,” cabinet member John Berry said. “Besides, conservative columnists are an endangered species in the media, so we want to celebrate them while they still exist.”

Shelley’s columns run weekly in many Inland Empire newspapers, including the Redlands Daily Facts, the San Bernardino Sun, and the Riverside Press-Enterprise. She’s also a vice president with the Howard Johnson Taxpayer Association, the organization dedicated to protecting Proposition 13.

Tickets start at $20 and are available on Eventbrite. Doors open to the Mill Creek Cattle Co., 1874 Mentone Blvd., Mentone, beginning at 6 p.m. Appetizers and one drink is included in the admission price. The program begins at 7 p.m. and prices increase beginning Dec. 10. VIP tickets include preferred seating and first access to the appetizers.

The celebration is hosted by the Redlands Tea Party Patriots and the Unite Inland Empire Coalition, two dozen conservative groups from Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

Eleven months of the year, the Redlands Tea Party Patriots holds its meetings on the first Thursday of the month. The annual Christmas party is on the second Thursday of December so it’s closer to Christmas.

“We are not shy about celebrating Jesus and Christmas,” Berry said. “And our speakers prove that.”

Also joining the celebration is Pastor Kevin O’Connor from the ARK Church of the Nazarene in Redlands. His presentation is, “The Story of the Birth of Jesus, the Christmas Prophet, and What it Means to us Today.”

The celebration includes the Gem City Jazz Cats, who will also perform during the Christmas carol sing-a-long.
