Healthy eating workshop for individuals with pre-diabetes and diabetes
St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) a member of Dignity Health invites our Spanish speaking community members to learn how to prepare a delectable summer meal with-a-nutritious twist. Allow our Chef Jorge Ambriz to show you the benefits of using alternate nourishing BBQ recipes. Register now for our Spanish cooking demonstration and taste testing. Friends and family members are also welcome to join this educational and tasting experience.
This one-hour class will be held on Tuesday, June 5 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Conference Center on the Garden Level, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center (1600 N. Rose Ave. in Oxnard, CA 93030).
“The class will showcase basic skills that participants can use for home-cooked meals, as part of a healthy lifestyle,” said Chef Jorge Ambriz, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. “Our goal is to help the diabetic community identify alternative nutritious food that support wellbeing.”
This summer workshop will introduce alternate flavors for better eating habits, tailored with tools to manage diabetes. Attendees will also learn about other tasty foods that improve their overall health.
This program is presented by St. John’s Community Health Education in conjunction with the Food and Nutrition Services.
