    Does Good Design Sell Books?

The design of a book cover sells books to the right people. Whether you’re a full-time mom looking for a good cry or a kid who wants an amazing adventure, a good cover tells you that you’ve come to the right place. Regardless of whether or not it clearly depicts the events of the book, it sets the tone and aims at a specific audience.

Remember, perception is more important that reality when making an emotional choice to select a book to read. Committing to spend several nights reading begins with what the book cover portrays and attracts.

Deborah Daly has spent her career working for top New York publishers as Art Director for St. Martin’s Press, Thomas Nelson Publishers, and for several top California publishers.

In this webinar, Deborah will discuss:

    • Exactly why you need to go to the bookstore before you start designing your book
    • The mistakes self-publishers make with their book covers
    • The 5 best tips you’ll ever get on designing covers that sell
    • Best fonts for business or self-help books
    • Why some fonts are just more readable than others
    • Why your book interior can make or break your book’s success
    • These 5 things make your book look unprofessional

… and a whole lot more.

This presentation is for authors who are planning to typeset their own books and/or design their own covers and self-publishers who want to learn what makes a book look “professional.”

With your registration, you may want to submit a cover for a professional critique, please do so. We can’t guarantee all will be reviewed, but Deborah will select the ones that best illustrate points she is discussing during the webinar.
