Simi Valley, CA…..The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS)  in conjunction with United Blood Services (UBS)  will host a spring blood drive on Tuesday March 10, 2018.  The drive will be 3:00 pm -7:30 p.m. at 480 Sinaloa Road, Simi Valley, Ca 93065

We encourage you to register online at www.blood4life.org  using the sponsor code = 8043.  If you set your appointment online you just show up at your designated time and answer a few questions, and you’ll be taken right in.   “You may use online to verify time slot availability.” States Cherie Whitaker, LDS Church, Public Affairs Blood Drive Coordinator, “but we will take everyone.  We offer the opportunity for Double Blood Donors where by the plasma is returned, taking about 40 minutes, but less chance of it effecting you.”

All blood donors need to feel 100% on the day of their donation, drink plenty of water or juice and make sure that they have something to eat before their donation time.  Age 16 + can donate. Please do not sign up if you have a flu or on antibiotics, or traveled outside the country or recent tattoos. You must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health to donate.   During your appointment, a nurse will check your temperature, cholesterol, blood pressure, and pulse and hemoglobin level to further ensure that you can safely donate.  You are asked to drink plenty of water and have a full meal before you donate.
