How Trump is Changing the Middle East
President Trump’s actions, so far, are a drastic break from decades of stale Mideast foreign policy, virtually reversing eight years of Obama’s retreating approaches. The regional upheaval in the Middle East persists with the civil war in Syria raging on with Turkish and Russian influence, the White Housetaking aim at Iran in Iraq, and Qatar lobbying influential Jews in Washington. Yet through all this strife Israel continues to thrive, prosper, and expand. Mr. Roman will offer an analysis of the Trump administration’s current Middle East policies and make predictions on how they will impact the region.
Gregg Roman previously served as the political adviser to the deputy foreign minister of Israel, and worked in the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Prior to his role as Director and COO at MEF, Mr. Roman served as Director of the Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh. In 2014, JTAnamed him as one of the 10 most inspiring Jewish leaders worldwide.
