The City of Oxnard once again joins in the global celebration of Earth Day. Oxnard’s Earth Day 2015 festival will be held on Saturday, unhealthy April 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Plaza Park, healing located at the corner of Fifth and “C” streets in downtown Oxnard. Admission is free.
Sponsored by the City of Oxnard, this increasingly popular event encourages each person to continue to act locally, while thinking globally. Local businesses also assist in making the event possible through their generous sponsorships. Sponsors this year include Custom Printing, Ventura County Star, Vida Newspaper, Gold Coast Broadcasting and NRG Energy. Held in Downtown Oxnard, this event receives support and active participation from the City’s downtown merchants.
Many of the environmental exhibit booths will have hands-on activities. Various community organizations will provide information on everything from reducing water bills through conservation to earth-friendly gardening practices.
Live musical entertainment will be provided by “The Coveralls.”
Oxnard’s Earth Day is a fun event for children with many activities planned just for them. The City is pleased to feature the entertaining and educational musical “All That Trash” highlighting the Three Rs—reducing, reusing and recycling—performed by “The Earthworms.” This fun duo uses juggling, singing and comedy to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
In addition to the entertainment and activities, a variety of food vendors will be on hand for hungry attendees.
Plenty of free parking will be available at the structure located at the corner of Third Street and “B” Street. For more information on Oxnard’s Earth Day, call (805) 385-7928 or visit www.CityofOxnard.org.
