Pharmacy Technician
Work in a retail pharmacy, hospital, pharmaceutical company or health maintenance organization. Coursework includes:
• Transcribing physician’s orders
• Name brand, generic, OTC medications
• Dosages/abbreviations
• Correct medication packaging
• Preparing IVs
• Drug distribution systems
• Labeling prescriptions
• Laws & Ethics
This class provides passing students with a Certificate of Completion for Pharmacy Technician and prepares students to sit for the PTCB National exam, qualifying them to become licensed as a Pharmacy Technician ($195 fee). Students can also become licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of California without taking the exam by combining this course with an externship in a Pharmacy ($295, subject to eligibility).
Includes text/workbook and set of scrubs
Exam pre-requisites: High School Diploma or equivalency; no felony convictions.
Daytime Program (8 Weeks):
Monday-Thursday: 9:00am-1:00pm
Saturday Program (16 Weeks):
Saturdays: 8:00am-4:00pm
