About this event
The Santa Monica Mountains after dark is a completely different world!
Most of the animals we normally see during the day are fast asleep. But as the sun sets, different kinds of animals, like scorpions, are just waking up.
Yes, we know these critters look terrifying, and that their sting can pack a powerful punch! Doesn’t that just make you want to learn more about them, though?
Join Ranger Aaron on a hike to explore and possibly find some of these fascinating creatures. UV lights will be provided!
Meet us at the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center in Newbury Park at 7:45 pm on August 14. We will be hiking until about 10:00 pm.
Be aware that UV lights will be limited, so please sign up!
For directions to the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center, or for any questions, you may call the Visitor Center at 805-370-2301. In addition, please see the map below. Be aware there is a short walk from the Parking area to the Culture Center.
Bring flashlights, water, and a jacket. It gets dark out here at night!
Rain cancels.
