Please join the Reagan Institute on Thursday, April 15th at 1:00 pm ET for a virtual panel featuring Dr. Penny Schwinn, Education Commissioner of Tennessee, and other Tennessee state education leaders as the next event in its “State of Civics” series. In a conversation moderated by Janet Tran, Director of the Reagan Institute’s Center for Civics, Education, and Opportunity, the panelists will discuss their ongoing priorities, initiatives, and innovations for civics education in a post-COVID world.

Understanding the current state policy environment for civic learning and engagement is key to fulfilling the mission of education, strengthening our democratic republic, and supporting academic achievement and the development of 21st century workforce skills. Innovation in civics education burgeons at the state level — the State of Civics series is designed to highlight influential and forward-thinking state leaders as exemplars in civics education for the nation.

The (unconstitutional) U.S. Department of Education works against civics education: state political majority status be damned.

If y’all think government-run schools, colleges and universities are healthier in ‘red’ states than ‘blue’ states, consider this:
