VENTURA, Calif.– Tickets are available for the Museum of Ventura County’s annual Wearable Art Fashion Show June 2, at the Museum’s Martin V. and Martha K. Smith Pavilion, 100 E Main Street, Ventura.
“Wearing Our Stories: Rising from the Ashes” focuses on stitching together the stories of courage amid destruction and mending the devastation left behind by the Thomas Fire. The challenge for artists, artisans and community members is to tell their stories through an article of clothing or accessories designed for this wearable art show.
Artwork by local artist John Stevenson will provide the backdrop for the fashion show. The show will include designers Brecia Kralovic-Logan, Aimee French, Christine Leong, Janice Chan, Elaine Unziker and Greta Lovina. Pieces range from handmade jewelry to a wedding dress.
A VIP pre-reception will be held at 6 p.m. for VIP ticket holders. General admission doors open at 6:45 and the fashion show begins at 7 p.m. General admission ticket prices are $45 for non-members, $40 for members; VIP tickets are $75 for non-members, $70 for members. VIP includes pre-reception with appetizers and one drink ticket.
